Minister of Health Delivers Lecture on Leadership and Innovation on "Methods of Critical Thinking – Part 2"

Phnom Penh, February 18, 2025 – Minister of Health Professor Chheang Ra delivered a lecture on "Methods of Critical Thinking – Part 2" as part of the Leadership and Innovation Course, addressing more than 4,105 health leaders and officials via Zoom.

In his lecture, Professor Chheang Ra emphasized the importance of strengthening health services, urging leaders, civil servants, and medical staff at health centers and district referral hospitals to prioritize maternal and newborn care. He also presented a case study on healthcare delivery, demonstrating problem-solving methods, treatment strategies, and preventive measures to improve patient care and avoid recurring issues in health facilities.

The minister also discussed the role of philosophy in professional and personal decision-making. He introduced key philosophical concepts such as entity, phenomenon, process, and form, explaining their relevance in two major schools of thought: Dialectical Materialism and Idealism. He encouraged health officials at all levels to deepen their understanding of philosophy and apply it to enhance critical thinking, ensuring their decisions are more comprehensive and contextually appropriate.

Additionally, with the minister’s approval, a presentation was delivered this week on efforts to improve outpatient service utilization at Angkor Borey Hospital, under the Takeo Provincial Health Department.
